Idioms 係英文母語者日常溝通都一定會經常用到嘅，而 IELTS speaking 要上到 band7 或以上就一定要展現你對英文溝通嘅流暢度，運用 idioms 就係一個好方法。今日，Wall Street English 就叫大家七個實用萬能嘅 idioms，喺 speaking exam 入面一展身手啦！
1. It’s not rocket science
這不是什麼火箭科技，意思是這並不是什麼高科技，並不難。
e.g.
Taking the DSE is not rocket science if you know the method behind and work hard.
如果你知道背後的規則並努力工作，那麼考 DSE 並不是難事。
2. Pull an all-nighter
是通宵工作的意思。
e.g.
Many college students are procrastinators who pull a lot of all-nighter to meet deadlines.
許多大學生都是拖延者，他們為了趕最後期限而通宵達旦。
3. Be dead in the water
一潭死水，了無生氣，一蹶不振的意思。
e.g.
The whole economy is dead in the water.
現在整個經濟都一蹶不振。
4. Blind alley
是中文裡的“死胡同”，指絕境或絕路。
e.g.
These sort of thinking are leading us up a blind alley.
這種思想把我們帶到了死胡同。
5. Double-edged sword
雙刃劍，意思是所有事情有好也有壞。
e.g.
This much freedom of expressions and opinions can be a double-edged sword.
如此多的表達和意見自由可能是一把雙刃劍。
6. Pillar of strength
強大的支柱；強大後盾
e.g.
My aunt has been a pillar of strength for me, helping me through many difficult moments in my life.
我的姑姑一直是我的支柱，幫助我度過了人生中的許多困難時刻。
7. Every dog has its day
人人都有走運的一天。
e.g.
Every dog has its day and thankfully it was my couple of days.
