DSE 考生常犯嘅語法錯誤合集

相信各位 DSE 考生都知道英文文法 Grammar 好重要，不過好多考生仍然係經常錯 Grammar 被扣好多分。今日 Wall Street English 就為大家整合咗 DSE 常見英文文法錯誤，希望大家以後唔好再因爲 Grammar 而失分啦。

1. Wrong use of commas 錯用逗號

很多同學經常誤用 comma，在文句中胡亂加上逗號以致於出現文法錯誤。例如是下面這一句，因爲 “He ate a sandwich” 同 “he didn’t pay for it” 係兩個獨立子句，所以兩句之間加上 comma 並不成立，應用分號補充兩句的意思，或加上連詞。

e.g.

x He ate the sandwich, he didn’t pay for it.

✓ He ate the sandwich; he didn’t pay for it. /He ate the sandwich he didn’t pay for.

2. Dangling modifier 懸垂修飾語

懸垂修飾語是因修飾語所修飾的對象不明而造成語句邏輯不通的一種語法結構。簡單一點來説，就是用錯修飾詞。像是下面這一句，被抛到空中的應是 stick 而不是 dog，所以上半句修飾的應是 stick。

e.g.

x Having been thrown in the air, the dog caught the stick.

✓ Having been thrown in the air, the stick was then caught by the dog.

3. Verbs that should not be followed by a preposition 錯誤介詞搭配

在某些情況下，動詞後面是不應該跟介詞的，但是同學往往會在這些動詞後搭配錯誤的介詞。例如是 discuss、 seek、accompany、demand、crave。

e.g.

x Staff demand for a pay rise.

✓ There is a demand for a pay rise.

4. Chinglish 中式英文

有些同學會將中文直接翻譯過去做英文，自然會出現語法上的錯誤。

e.g.

x They are difficult to escape from this vicious cycle.

✓ It is difficult for them to escape from this vicious cycle.

5. The two parts joined by “and” do not have the same subject 濫用 “and”

在某些句子中，前半句和後半句沒有直接聯係，有些同學卻用”and”把兩句連起來，便會出現主語無法修飾後句的問題。

e.g.

x The park has a convenient location and get there in 30 minutes.

✓ The park has a convenient location. We can get there in 30 minutes.
