Eligible applicants will be reimbursed a maximum sum of HK$25,000*, upon successful completion of a reimbursable course and passing a specified benchmark test* provided by WSE.

 Enhancement Measures of Continuing Education Fund (CEF)

The implementation of Enhancement Measures Effective on August 1st, 2022
Eligible ApplicantHong Kong residents aged from 18 or above (who have enrolled and paid the tuition fee for a reimbursable course before the course commencement date)
Reimbursable AmountThe reimbursed rate for the first $10,000 subsidy ceiling is 80%

The reimbursed rate for the second $15,000 subsidy ceiling is 60%.

Eligible applicants can apply for reimbursement up to $25,000#.

Validity Period & Maximum Number of ClaimsThere is no limit on the number of claims. Applicants can continue to apply for reimbursement before reaching the age of 71.
Application ProceduresAn application to open a CEF account can be either submitted before the commencement of the CEF course OR together with an application for the first reimbursement claim after successful completion of the first CEF course.
Language Benchmark TestClaimants are required to pass a specified benchmark test (e.g. VERSANT, IELTS) at a specified (or higher) level and submit the application for reimbursement claims within one year upon successful completion of a CEF course.

 Continuing Education Fund (CEF) FAQ

For IELTS Course Students:

  • HKID card
  • Any of the following:
    • Bankbook
    • Bank statement
    • A bankcard that shows the bank account number
  • Receipt of the exam registration of the IELTS Test
  • IELTS certificate (showing result of at least 3.5 or above)

For the General English Course Student:

  • HKID card
  • Any of the following:
    • Bankbook
    • Bank statement
    • A bankcard that shows the bank account number
  • Receipt of the exam registration of General English Course
  • General English certificate (showing result of at least 32 or above)

 

The following applicants of CEF will be unsuccessful under these circumstances:

  • Applicants do not meet the requirements for eligibility to apply, this includes being under 18 when submitting the documents required for the application, or not an official permanent Hong Kong resident
  • Applicants who had already received the maximum subsidy amount of the CEF reimbursement
  • Applicants who send in their applications later than the required time
  • Applicants who cannot provide all documents needed for the application.
