  • May I have your passport, please?
  • Do you have a carry-on bag?
  • Are you checking any bags?
  • Would you like a window seat or an aisle seat?
  • Could you place your bag on the scale?
  • Is the flight on time?
  • You’ll board at Gate 102.
  • When should I be at the gate?
  • I’m afraid your passport has expired.
  • Your baggage is overweight.

Here’s an example.

Staff:        Good afternoon. May I have your ticket and passport, please?

Me:          Here you are.

Staff:        Are you checking any bags?

Me:          No. I’ve only got one carry-on bag.

Staff:        Okay. Would you like a window seat or an aisle seat?

Me:          Window, please.

Staff:        Sure, no problem…. I can give you K1, by the window…Here’s your boarding pass. You’ll board at Gate 102. Your flight departs at 4:30pm. Please be at the gate 30 minutes before departure. Enjoy your flight.

Me:          Thanks.
