英文有好多唔同嘅連接詞，Concession就係其中一種，例如大家最常聽到嘅but/ although/ however等等。要攞更加高嘅Coherence and Cohesion分，就需要唔同linking words嘅變化，今日同大家講吓有咩字可以代替but/ although/ however啦！

 

1. Albeit

 

+SVO: I failed in the examination, albeit I have tried hard.

雖然我已經很努力，但還是沒有通過考試。

 

+Adj./ Adv.: He purchased this luxurious watch, albeit rather expensive.

雖然這隻奢侈的手錶很昂貴，他還是買了。

 

2. Much as

 

+SVO: Much as she woke up late this morning, she was not late for the class. It’s because she lives near her school.

雖然她今天早上起晚了，上課卻沒有遲到，是因為她就住在學校附近。

 

3. Notwithstanding

 

+N.: Notwithstanding the parents’ objections, the couple eventually got married.

雖然父母反對，這對情侶還是結婚了。

 

4. For all

 

+N.: For all the rainy weather, we decided to go on a picnic.

雖然正在下雨，我們仍決定要去野餐。

 

5. With all

 

+N.: With all the mistakes on stage, the musical has had great success.

雖然在舞台上犯下了失誤，該音樂劇仍取得巨大的成功。

 

6. Be that as it may

 

+SVO: She is young, be that as it may, she has bought a house for her family.

雖然她還是很年輕，卻已經為家人買了房子。
